Due to the mass shortage of Personal Support Workers in the Province of Ontario, HealthForceOntario and the Ontario PSW Association are answering the call for help. OPSWA is very specific as to who can apply and be granted grandfathering. This is a case by case basis.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have Developmental Service Diploma or a Health Care Aide Certificate from Ontario and wish to join the OPSWA, please register under the PSW Membership. However, if you are providing care and are not a PSW, please register under our Associate Membership.

This program is open to any new Canadian who is legally allowed to work in Canada and is looking to gain experience in Ontario Health care. All those grandfathered would be covered under a one million dollar professional liability and will be recognized as a Personal Support Worker under OPSWA.
